Two months later……

And I Have Let Excuses Hold Me Back

I feel quite embarrassed about the time lapse.  My intentions were there and many times I wrote blogs in my mind but they never made it to the computer.  I could give you many excuses although  they don’t count.  It was not that I didn’t want to continue on with my blog, I did, I just let life get in the way.

The more days went by, the more my confidence drained.  The passing weeks held both ups and downs  and I was sure each day I would get back on track.  Still time went on and no progress.

The catalyst for me was this past weekend.  I went to a seminar in Brisbane.

What I heard started a fire within me.

Virtually everyone grows up with the following formula :    GO TO  SCHOOL – GO TO WORK – DIE!

I began to think that if I did not change the formula I was living by, then my children too would follow in the same footsteps.  I needed to change.  Success is one step away from failure they say, so why should I hesitate to move forward.

My New Motto – Whatever It Takes!

I needed to identify my passion….

What was my passion?

What were my favourite things to do?

Maybe it was time to be a bit selfish and explore what I really wanted?

I know that people go to seminars, arrive home hyped up but then never really progress.  This is not the fault of those who hold the seminars, it is the lack of passion of those who attend.  We can grasp what is just out of our reach if we can just extend ourselves a little.  No one can make us do anything.  A quote I heard on the weekend was ‘If it is to BE, then it is up to ME!”

Is it our lack of knowledge, our self confidence, our upbringing, our lack of time etc that holds us back from what we want?  I feel it is because we fail to dream.  Dreams do come true if we hold them close to our hearts.  I found in myself that I had come to accept normality, just getting through each day and not expecting anything amazing to happen.  What I have learned this weekend has blown the shutters off my eyes.

If I want things to be different then I must be different.  The responsibility is all mine.  Step by step in the right direction brings me closer to my dreams.

The Beginning

As an office worker, I have been familiar with computers for many years.  When dial-up broadband started, my world opened up.  The information available online amazed me.  The family computer and the internet was in demand by all of us.  Communication with family and friends was the main focus in the beginning.
